the studio
Mermere is the title of a science fiction novel written by Hugo Verlomme and published in 1978. It tells the story of the Noés, a people living beneath the sea in harmony with their environment. It is a tribute to the ocean and to ecology, and one of Noé’s parents’ favorite books, who were diving instructors.
We believe that myths and stories have the power to transform consciousness. We must imagine new odes to togetherness, rooted in a poetic, inclusive, and respectful balance with all that surrounds us.
Each creation is conceived as an artifact, imbued with symbols and stories, designed to protect what is fragile and sensitive. Mermere pieces are contemporary talismans to wear, revealing the light of another world: ideal, possible, and optimistic.
Guided by values of sustainability, inclusivity, and creative freedom, the studio aspires to express a Mediterranean luxury that is sensitive, contemporary, and in tune with the aspirations of our time.

The designer
Noé grew up in Marseille, by the Mediterranean Sea. His parents, both diving instructors, passed on to him a deep love for the underwater world. Everyday life in this historic port city, along with summers spent on the island of Porquerolles, shaped his imagination.
Marseille holds a special place in his heart, an endless source of inspiration for his work. It is an ancient city at the crossroads of traditions, eras, and civilizations. Understanding a culture through its artifacts lies at the core of Noé’s creative process.
